Official visit of the Secretary-General to India (New Delhi, 3 December- 4 December 2009)


On the occasion of his official visit to India, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría launched on 4 December the Investment Policy Review of India during a press conference in the presence of Mr. Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry. On 3 December, the Secretary-General also opened the India-OECD Symposium along with Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India. This event was co-organised by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) and the OECD.

He also met with:

  • Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission
  • Mr. Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry
  • Mr. Kamal Nath, Minister of Road Transport and Highways
