This launch brought together mayors from around the world, as well as leaders from business, philanthropic organisations, associations of cities, think tanks and international institutions, to highlight the role of cities in addressing rising inequalities.
During this meeting a network of champion mayors was created. These mayors committed to a roadmap for action which included championing an Inclusive Growth agenda in their cities by promoting policies and practices that foster both economic growth and inclusiveness, and helping shape a policy roadmap for the Inclusive Growth in Cities campaign.
