Securing a resilient future for Southeast Asia:
Strengthening the role of open, connected and innovative governments

Remote meeting, 3 December 2020

The OECD Network on Open and Innovative Government in Southeast Asia (NOIG SEA) discusses cross-cutting opportunities, challenges and priorities in the areas of open government, digital government and public sector innovation towards securing a resilient future for the region.

The 5th NOIG SEA meeting will focus on forward-looking policies at local, national, regional and international levels that place people at the heart of public sector reforms for more resilient, equitable and sustainable results.

By engaging the population to increase openness while fostering more connected and innovative governments, Southeast Asia can leverage its rapid developments and increased digitalisation for stronger public governance, economic and social outcomes across:

  • Governance of open, digital and innovative governments in critical times
  • Digital rights and civic participation for a sustainable digital transformation
  • Standards and mechanisms for cross-border data exchange and service delivery
  • Rebuilding the economic and social fabric at a city level innovatively
