Building a more resilient future: quality infrastructure for all
|
The 2021 edition of the Forum highlighted some of the most effective governance practices related to infrastructure planning, delivery, and decision-making, including the latest trends to maximise the benefits of infrastructure to societies and economies following the COVID-19 crisis.
It discussed how infrastructure governance can actively contribute to a green and digital transition. It also presented recent initiatives and tools to measure the impact of infrastructure investment and public procurement on environmental and climate change outcomes. The Forum also looked at how infrastructure governance can promote inclusive and equitable growth by integrating social and gender considerations in infrastructure planning, appraisal, and evaluation. Discussions highlighted the importance of meaningful stakeholder engagement with users and impacted communities to enable an evidence-based debate on the main economic, environmental, and social impacts of infrastructure investments. The Forum brought together decision-makers from the public and private sectors, centres of governments, ministries of finance, procurement agencies, regulators, sub-national governments, financial institutions and institutional investors, to exchange experiences and discuss good practices.
