Open Government

Open Governments are built on three pillars:

  • transparency

  • citizen participation

  • accountability

An Open Government is one that discloses information about its processes and proceedings - sharing documents and data for public scrutiny and involvement. Equally, an Open Government invites all citizens to be participants in decision making processes.

The relationship between citizens and governments is a fundamental element of a democratic society today. Greater transparency and public participation in governments leads to better policies and services and promotes public sector integrity.

Our work on open governments in the MENA region includes:

  1. Public sector integrity and anti-corruption frameworks

  2. Open and inclusive policy making and citizen participation

  3. Digital government and innovation in the public sector
