The OECD will present its latest Environmental Performance Review of Israel on Wednesday 31 May, providing an in-depth examination of Israel’s progress towards its emissions-cutting targets and other environmental goals. The Review looks in detail at measures that Israel could take to ramp up investment in solar energy and electric vehicles, improve water quality, enhance biodiversity protection, improve waste management and transition towards a circular economy.

 

OECD Environment Director Jo Tyndall will present the Review’s findings and recommendations and take questions alongside Minister of Environmental ProtectionIdit Silman from 09:00 to 10:00 at the Government complex, Bank of Israel 7, Jerusalem. The event will take place in Hebrew and English with simultaneous interpretation.

OECD Environmental Performance Reviews (EPRs) provide independent, evidence-based assessments of countries’ progress towards their environmental objectives. They offer recommendations to support countries in their efforts to strengthen policies that contribute to environmental goals. EPRs facilitate peer-to-peer learning, encouraging countries to improve their environmental performance both individually and collectively.
