21/09/2022 -

09:30 Presentation and press conference in Santiago

The OECD will present a new Economic Survey of Chile on Friday 23 September. The Survey takes an in-depth look at Chile’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and discusses how reforms could raise tax revenues, expand social protection and improve productivity. A special chapter looks in more detail at ways to reduce inequality and foster labour formalisation and job quality.

OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann will present the Survey’s findings and take questions at a presentation and press conference alongside Chilean Minister of Finance Mario Marcel starting at 09:30 on Friday 23 September at the Palacio Pereira (Huérfanos 1515, Santiago).

  • Journalists are invited to register for the press conference by emailing Miriam Leiva, Head of Communications at the Ministry of Finance.

  • Journalists can request a copy of the Survey under embargo a day in advance, thereby undertaking to respect the OECD’s embargo procedures, by emailing [email protected]. An overview of the Survey with key messages will be published at 09:30 Santiago time on 23 September at this link, which can be included in news articles: www.oecd.org/economy/chile-economic-snapshot/
