OECD Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth; Mauricio Vila Dosal (Mérida, Mexico), Luis Mella (Quillota, Chile) and Edgar Mora Altamirano (Curridabat, Costa Rica) and their respective teams gathered in Mérida, Mexico in August 2017.
The mayors, along with a representative from Medellin, showed interest in developing inclusion indicators from which their cities can benefit. The Champion Mayors signed an agreement of cooperation to share best practices aimed at reducing inequalities in their cities. They highlighted the importance of mayors to be pro-active in their efforts to reduce inequality and move further towards inclusive growth.
The results of the cooperation will be further explored in the upcoming 3rd Annual Champion Mayors meeting in Seoul, Korea.
