Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Jakarta on 24-25 March 2015 on an official visit to Indonesia, where he presented, alongside Mr. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of Finance, the 2015 OECD Economic Survey of Indonesia. He also presented, alongside Mr. Anies Baswedan, Minister for Education and Culture, the Review of National Policies for Education: Education in Indonesia - Rising to the Challenge.

 

The Secretary-General, alongside Mr. Bambang Brodjonegoro, also delivered the opening remarks at the Southeast Asia Regional Forum on “Regional Integration and Openness”, and attended the ceremony to open the Jakarta OECD Office.

 

While in Jakarta, the Secretary-General held bilateral meetings with Mr. Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of Indonesia, as well as with several Ministers and high level officials from Indonesia and other countries attending the Forum.

 

Mr. Gurría also delivered remarks at a high-level lunch on gender, which he co-hosted with Dr. Yohana Susana Yembise, Minister of Women’s Empowerment, and attended a “Friends of the OECD” reception, hosted by Mr. Trevor Matheson, Ambassador of New Zealand to Indonesia.
