    Finland’s economy is on the mend but pushing ahead with reform is key, says OECD

    Finland’s economy is gradually picking up, but uncertainty surrounds the recovery. Determined action to implement structural reforms is needed to revive economic growth, restore competitiveness and preserve high standards of living and well-being, according to the OECD’s latest Economic Survey of Finland.

    Secretary-General's official visit to Finland, 28th February 2013

    The Secretary-General, Mr. Angel Gurría, was in Helsinki to deliver a keynote speech at the Finnish Government’s mid-term review. He presented the brochure “Finland - Fit for the Future”, suggesting a series of structural reforms Finland should undertake in order to achieve long-term sustainable growth and preserve the country’s comprehensive welfare state arrangements in the face of demographic ageing.
