The COVID-19 outbreak shed a new light on the need to focus on individuals’ and households’ financial resilience. At the same time, the COVID-19 crisis also accelerated the shift towards digitalisation in financial services, communication and policy responses. Governments around the world and in Asia have acted swiftly to mitigate some of the negative financial consequences of the actions taken to halt the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

This publication sets out the key findings of a study to better understand the attitudes, behaviour and experiences of financial consumers with regard to COVID-19 policy measures on financial consumer protection and financial education implemented by governments in selected Asian economies, namely Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia.
