Background
Clean hydrogen will play an important role in realising a global net-zero emission energy system. Countries with low-cost renewable potential, access to water and low cost of capital are well-positioned to become major producers and/or exporters of green hydrogen and its derivatives. Developing hydrogen standards, regulations and certification mechanisms will be key to enable the market creation and growth and facilitate the international trade of green hydrogen.
Overview
This webinar provided insights on the opportunities and challenges in developing certification mechanisms for green hydrogen. It paid particular attention to the strategies that can foster international harmonisation of standards. It also provided insights on the role that governments, the private sector and international organisations can play in the development of hydrogen certification.
