Key publication on monitoring migration: International Migration Outlook

This edition of International Migration Outlook, the 46th report of the OECD’s Continuous Reporting System on Migration, is divided into eight chapters plus a statistical annex. Chapter 1 provides a broad overview of recent trends in international migration flows and policies. Chapter 2 analyses recent developments in migration policy. Chapter 3 presents recent developments in migrant integration policy. Chapter 4 takes an in-depth look at the policy response by OECD countries to the large inflow of refugees from Ukraine.  Chapters 5 to 7 focus on international students by analysing respectively recent trends, attraction and retention policies, and the economic impact of international students, respectively.  Chapter 8 presents short country-specific notes as well as statistics on the development of international migration movements and migration policies in OECD countries in recent years. The Statistical Annex includes a broad selection of recent and historical statistics on immigrant flows; asylum requests; foreign and foreign-born populations; and naturalisations.

Data on monitoring migration

OECD International Migration database Provides tables with recent annual series on migration flows and stocks and acquisition of nationality by gender and country of birth or citizenship in OECD countries.

Database on Immigrants in OECD Countries (DIOC) Provides comprehensive and comparative information on a broad range of demographic and labour market characteristics of immigrants living in OECD countries. A version including non-OECD destinations (DIOC extended) is also available. The data are based on population censuses in the destination countries.
