School education during COVID-19: Were teachers and students ready?

Country notes

As a response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic most governments around the world locked down their populations and closed their schools in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus.

As some countries are now starting to gradually reopen their schools, these COVID-19 country notes aim to bring together evidence from various OECD education surveys, to examine countries’ responses to the COVID-19 crisis, with a view to inform and guide future policy responses to the crisis.

These country notes focuses on the level of preparedness of educational systems to support the learning of students during the health crisis.
