Mr Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, in Geneva and Lausanne on 3 July 2019

 

Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Geneva and Lausanne on 3 July 2019. He launched the joint OECD-WTO Report "Aid for Trade at a Glance 2019: Supporting Economic Diversification and Empowerment for Inclusive, Sustainable Development through Aid for Trade" and discussed the role aid for trade can play in making a contribution to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. He delivered remarks at the session How can aid and 21st Century trade help to close the gender gap? The Secretary-General then presented, alongside Mr. Roberto Azevêdo, Director General of the WTO, the OECD-WTO report The role of the World Trade Organization in supporting international regulatory cooperation.


In Geneva, Mr. Angel Gurría delivered his 4th biennial Climate Lecture at the Graduate Institute.


While in Geneva, the Secretary-General held bilateral meetings with high-level officials and heads of international organisations.


In Lausanne, Mr. Angel Gurría signed a Memorandum of understanding with Mr. Thomas Bach, President, International Olympic Committee (IOC).
