Equal Rights Under Attack Around the World
While great progress has been made on the road to gender equality, in just a few short years, the pandemic has set us back by more than a generation. Gender-equitable norms and laws are being overturned. Nearly 1 in 2 women report having experienced (or knowing a woman who experienced) violence during the pandemic. And, over 11 million girls may not go back to school after the pandemic.
So, how do we address this and avoid further setbacks? What are the key drivers of change that require more attention to tackle gender-based discriminatory norms?
Speakers include:
Naila Kabeer, Professor of Gender and Development at the Gender Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir, Senior Advisor, Women’s Leadership, UN Women; Chair, Reykjavík Global Forum Board
