Building a More Resilient World in a Multi-Crisis Era
From climate change - to COVID-19 - to Russia’s war against Ukraine, the world is weathering a series of multiple, cascading crises.
1.2 billion people live in 69 “perfect-storm” countries that are severely vulnerable to the food, energy and finance crises that are being aggravated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to the United Nations Secretary-General’s Global Crisis Response Group.
How to strengthen the resilience of these countries, and better prepare the international response to “perfect storms”?
Join development experts from around the world to hear their insights on today’s overlapping, multi-sectoral crises, and explore the options to improve readiness for future ones, at national and international levels.
Speakers include:
Dr. Rebecca Nadin, Director of the Global Risks & Resilience team, ODI
Kevin P. Gallagher, Professor of Global Development Policy; Director, Global Development Policy Center, Boston University
Shekhar Aiyar, Head of Multilateral Surveillance in the IMF's Research Department
Susanna Gable, Chief Economist at the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency
