In conjunction with the Annual Meeting for National Contact Points , the OECD held a Corporate Responsibility Roundtable on "The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and Developing Countries - Building Trust" on 14 June 2005 in Paris.
Roundtable participants discussed the following issues:
- Do the Guidelines express concepts and principles that are relevant for all companies or for only OECD-based companies?
- Does promoting observance of the Guidelines pose special problems in non-adhering countries?
- The OECD Guidelines and Development – Prospects for Maximising Positive Impacts
The Roundtable was attended by delegates from member and non-member countries, representatives of the business community, trade unions, NGOs and academia.
