This one-day workshop for representatives of competition authorities explored how agencies can best exercise their evidence gathering, decision-making and assessment powers in the respect of the procedural safeguards of the parties. Over 170 participants from 57 delegations discussed how investigation, competition assessment and judicial review interact with due process requirements, such as the presumption of innocence, proportionality, the right to be heard, the protection of the legitimate expectations of the parties and the exercise of judicial review.
