Mexican Competition Assessment in the Gas Sector: The Competition Assessment on gas took place between October 2017 and October 2018 as a follow-on project to the first Mexican Competition Assessment Review. For gas, the project team identified and evaluated market regulations along the vertical supply chains in the sector, covering: natural gas and its extraction, processing, transportation, distribution to final consumers, and manufacturing of basic petrochemical products from natural gas; as well as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and its extraction, processing, storage, transportation and distribution to final consumers. The report makes 72 recommendations on specific legal provisions that should be abolished or amended.
A further assessment was published in 2019 for the poultry sector in Jalisco and Sinaloa (English | Español). Jalisco is the most important state in Mexico in terms of chicken-meat production; Sinaloa is number nine. The OECD makes additional recommendations to those of the Mexican Competition Assessment on Meat at federal level for additionally improving competitive conditions at the state level in Jalisco and Sinaloa.
