High-level Launch of the EU for Integrity Programme for the Eastern Partnership This event launched the EU for Integrity Programme for the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) jointly implemented by OECD Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (OECD ACN) and the Open Government Partnership (OGP). High-level representatives from the EU, the OECD and OGP discussed how to effectively advance necessary reforms in the Eastern Partnership countries. The rule of law, a fair justice system, open civic space and good governance are essential for a fair and sustainable socio-economic recovery from the COVID-19. It was discussed that open reforms in these areas are necessary to achieve positive developments for our partner countries’ citizens and the economies they live in. The EU for Integrity Programme will be the key tool in this endeavour by providing a set of anti-corruption performance indicators and mainstreaming the effective participation of civil society organisations to ensure open government reforms. EU Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, OECD Secretary General Ángel Gurría, OGP Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Pradhan and European Commission’s DG NEAR Deputy Director-General Katarina Mathernova were joined by high-level officials from the national authorities and civil society leaders from the Eastern Partnership.
