10-12 March 2010, Beirut, Lebanon
On 10-12 March 2010, a workshop on one stop shop services for investors in the MENA region was organised by the MENA-OECD Investment Programme. The workshop, which took place in Beirut, was organised in co-operation with the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL).

The meeting brought together key one stop shop (OSS) officials from both OECD and MENA countries to discuss different possible OSS configurations and share best practices in providing one stop shop services to investors. Participants included officials from: the National Investment Commission of Iraq (NIC); the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL); the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI), and the Portuguese Office of the Secretary of State for Administrative Modernisation.
The workshop featured lively discussion between the delegations of the four countries regarding OSS procedures and best practices. It included a site visit to the one stop shop in Beirut as well as several OSS client firms, and focused on three key issues for the Iraqi one stop shop: communication about OSS services, assistance to investors seeking land, and co-ordination with line ministries and other stakeholders.
