Peru hosted the regional conference of the OECD’s Latin America Anti-Corruption Programme in Lima on 17-18 September. The Conference covered a range of corruption-related topics, including/
- the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, and other international anti-corruption standards;
- the role of civil society and the private sector in fighting corruption;
- corporate liability for foreign bribery;
- asset recovery and confiscation; and
- enforcement issues.
The Conference audience included a range of attendees from across the public and private sectors and civil society. Speakers included representatives from the United Nations, the Organisation of American States, Transparency International, the Basel Institute on Governance, a number of Working Group on Bribery members (including the UK, Spain, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina) and the Peruvian government.
