Seminars on corporate governance and business integrity in Russia

The OECD held a series of seminars between 2016 and 2018 on business integrity in Russia, in partnership with Deloitte CIS and with the support of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, thanks to the funding of the Siemens Integrity Initiative.

The seminars provided a forum for discussion and sharing of international and domestic expertise on issues relative to business integrity and corporate governance, with a special focus on the experience of companies in the Russian Federation. Destined to corporate representatives, public sector stakeholders as well as others interested in the topics, the seminars focused on promoting business integrity and compliance through effective corporate governance measures.

Since 2015, the annual OECD Russia Corporate Governance Roundtable and business integrity seminar series brought together over 1 400 participants to discuss business integrity and corporate governance. The participants included representatives of large listed companies, the public sector (including Russia’s Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, Rosimuschestvo, Central Bank and the Prosecutor General’s Office), institutional investors and associations, academia and civil society organisations working on related subjects.

Experts used the space to discuss developments regarding the corporate governance framework and to share new approaches at the company level aimed at implementing and strengthening integrity-related components of the 2014 Russian Corporate Governance Code (including internal control, risk management, internal audit and reporting among many others). Participants not only shared good practices for the benefit of the Russian Federation, but concretely contributed to the development of new international guidance on integrity and anti-corruption for state-owned enterprises. While the seminar series ended in 2018, discussions on business integrity will continue through the OECD Russia Corporate Governance Roundtable.
