China is joining a group of 48 OECD and non-OECD countries that are members of the OECD Development Centre. The Centre helps decision makers find policy solutions to stimulate growth and improve living conditions in developing and emerging economies. China is also an OECD Key Partner, like Brazil, India, Indonesia, and South Africa, which are already members of the OECD Development Centre.

中华人民共和国于今日加入经合组织发展中心,这是对中国转变经济发展方式的重要支持举措,中国的加入也为经合组织“大家庭”掀开了新的一页。 经合组织发展中心由48个经合组织成员与非成员国组成。该中心向决策者建言献策,协助寻求发展中国家和新兴国家刺激增长、改善民生的政策解决方案。与中国同为经合组织关键伙伴国的巴西、印度、印尼和南非,均已加入该中心。

During the global economic crisis, China’s unemployment rate (in urban areas) remained almost unchanged despite the slowdown in the real economy. The unemployment rate peaked at 4.3% in 2009, only 0.3 percentage points above the pre-crisis level, while the real GDP growth rate fell from 14.2% in 2007 to 9.2% in 2009.
