Statement by OECD Secretary-General Gurría on the earthquake in Italy

 

26/8/2016 - I would like to convey my deepest sorrow and condolences following the earthquake in Italy.

 

I have just written to Prime Minister Renzi. We are thinking of those who lost their lives, their families, their homes, as well as the many others affected by this disaster.

 

Our sympathies are with the people of Italy. I am sure that the Italian people will have the same courage they have shown in the past in their recovery following disastrous earthquakes.
