The Secretary-General delivered opening remarks and served as co-vice-chair at the inaugural meeting of the United Nations High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth.
The Secretary-General attended the China Development Forum and also presented the Chinese edition of the OECD Latin American Economic Outlook 2016: Towards a New Partnership with China as well as the report “Policies for Sound and Effective Investment in China”.
The Secretary-General presented the 2016 OECD Economic Assessment of Lithuania and met with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė and high-level representatives. He also opened the Nature Research Centre, the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology, and the CERN exhibition “Accelerating Science” at Vilnius University.
The Secretary-General presented the 2016 Economic Survey of Greece alongside Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and held meetings with Greek ministers and officials.
Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, will be in Madrid on Friday 4 March 2016 to receive a Doctorate Honoris Causa by the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
The Secretary-General spoke at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting, the G20 High-Level Seminar on Structural Reform, and also presented the OECD report Going for Growth 2016.
Mr. Gurría received the International Peace Prize from Slovakia 2015 Award, granted by the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also presented two OECD education reviews on the Slovak Republic and held meetings with government ministers.
The Secretary-General discussed the recently launched process of accession to the OECD and presented the OECD's first Economic Survey of Costa Rica. Mr. Gurría also held meetings with President Luis Guillermo Solís and several government ministers.
The Secretary-General delivered a keynote speech at the 4th World Government Summit and held bilateral meetings with UAE authorities. He also launched the OECD Global Platform for Governance of the Future and delivered a keynote speech at the Arab Regulators Corporate Governance Forum.
This visit commemorated the 5th anniversary of Israel's accession to the OECD. The Secretary-General held meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin, as well as with most of the Cabinet Ministers. He also presented the OECD Economic Survey of Israel and the report "Measuring and Assessing Well-Being in Israel".
