The Secretary-General presented the OECD Review of Mexico´s National Auditing System and signed agreements with the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) to start new projects on regulation, integrity and public procurement.
The Secretary-General attended the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group. He also delivered remarks at a number of other events including a keynote speech on the “The Integration of Migrants and Refugees: Challenges and Opportunities” at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, and the launch of the Model G20 Program at American University.
The Secretary-General participated in the OECD Ministerial Meeting on Better Policies for Inclusive Growth and Economic Integration in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region and presented a number of OECD projects. He also held bilateral meetings with the President of Tunisia and other high-level officials.
The Secretary-General participated in a number of events including the UN General Assembly and the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants. He also presented the OECD International Migration Outlook 2016 as well as the OECD African Economic Outlook and the publication "States of Fragility 2016".
The Secretary-General launched the 2016 edition of Education at a Glance with Mr. Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport.
The Secretary-General addressed the Informal Meeting of EU Finance Ministers (ECOFIN) on the topic of improving tax certainty and fighting base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS), tax crime and the financing of terrorism.
The Secretary-General presented OECD work and recommendations to G20 Heads of State and Government at several sessions and also participated in the B20 summit and held bilateral meetings with leaders attending the events.
The Secretary-General will participate in World Water Week and will also hold bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Sweden, the Mayor of Stockholm, and several ministers and high-level officials.
