Official visit of the Secretary-General to the People's Republic of China (Beijing, 20-23 March 2010)

 

During his official visit to the People's Republic of China, Angel Gurría met with government representatives including:

• Mr. Chen Deming, Minister of Commerce
• Mr. Liu He, Vice Chairman of the Office of the Leading Group of Economic and Financial Affairs
• Mr. Wan Gang, Minister of Science and Technology
• Mr. Zhang Yutai, President, Development Research Centre of the State Council

 

The Secretary-General participated in the 2010 China Development Forum and spoke at two sessions: "World’s Economic Outlook in 2010-2012: Slow Recovery or Double-Dip Recession?" and "The Transformation of China's Growth Pattern in the New Global Context."

 

In the context of the China Development Forum, Mr. Gurría met with Premier Mr. Wen Jiabao and Mr. Guo Jinglong, Mayor of Beijing.

 

Mr. Gurría also delivered a speech at the Central Party School.
