Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, launching the OECD Economic Outlook, 1 December 2020

Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, presented the OECD Economic Outlook, along with OECD Chief Economist Laurence Boone, on 1 December 2020. The report focuses on how the recovery will be gradual and on the need for faster vaccine deployment and better cooperation for its distribution, vaccination campaigns, concerted health policies and government financial support.

The Economic Outlook stressed that the bounce-back will be strongest in the Asian countries that have brought the virus under control but even by the end of 2021, many economies will have shrunk from 2019 levels before the pandemic.
