Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, delivered remarks to open the high-level webinar on Supporting jobs and companies: maintaining a bridge to the recovery phase, on Monday 18 January 2021. The webinar was co-organised by the OECD and the European Commission and the Secretary-General spoke alongside Mr. Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner, Jobs and Social Rights. The meeting brought together representatives of the ministries of finance and employment to discuss the need for continued policy support for jobs and firms, as well as how existing interventions can be adapted to meet current needs.
