OECD Secretary-General at XXIII Ibero-American Summit, Panama City, 18-19 October 2013


Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, attended the XXIII Latin American Summit of Heads of State and Governments that took place in Panama City on 18-19 October, under the title “The political, economic, social and cultural role of the Ibero-American Community within a new global context”. During his stay in Panama, the Mr. Gurría presented the 2014 edition of the annual Latin American Economic Outlook, jointly produced by the OECD Development Centre, the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Latin American Development Bank (CAF). The Secretary-General also held bilateral meetings in the side-lines of the Summit and delivered keynote remarks at the IX Encuentro Empresarial Iberoamericano, an event held in the margins of the Summit on the initiative of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), the Government of Panama and the Consejo Empresarial de América Latina (CEAL).
