09/10/2009 - OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría hailed the Nobel committee’s decision to award its annual Peace Prize to U.S. President Barack Obama, calling it ''a powerful vote for peace and co-operation between nations''.

"President Obama has demonstrated strong leadership and determination to bring peoples and nations closer together through enhanced co-operation" Mr. Gurría said.

''He has brought renewed hope that by working together, we can successfully address our global social, economic, environmental and security challenges. We look forward to continuing to work with President Obama's Administration in supporting these goals''.
