Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, in Washington from 13 to 17 April 2016

 

Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was in Washington from 13 to 17 April 2016 to attend the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FM&CBG) Meeting and the International Monetary Fund/World Bank (IMF/WB) Spring Meetings. 

 

At the FM&CBG Meeting, the Secretary-General made lead interventions on the global economy and growth framework, and investment and infrastructure. He also delivered written statements at the IMFC and Development Committee Meetings. 

 

While in Washington, the Secretary-General met with several high-level authorities attending the events.

 

He also presented the OECD Scoreboard on Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs, jointly with Mr. Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor, Central Bank of the People’s Republic of China, and spoke at a Joint WB-OECD event, "Competition Policy in Developing Countries: Helping Markets Perform Better".

 

The Secretary-General was the keynote speaker at a reception for the Bertelsmann Foundation’s Eighth Annual Conference with the Financial Times, "Migration Flows: Facts, Fiction and the Politics in Between". He also delivered opening remarks at the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition High-Level Assembly and co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the Tax Inspectors Without Borders Governing Board with Ms. Helen Clark, UNDP Administrator.
