In view of market developments, including the marketing of new aircraft models and the growing number of aircraft manufacturers, the Participants to the Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Civil Aircraft (the ASU) decided, at the end of 2009, to review the ASU, which was last updated in 2007. In order to conclude the review of the ASU by the end of 2010, the Participants started a series of negotiating sessions in February and will hold at least four additional sessions in April, June, September and November 2010. In conducting their review, the Participants will consult, as appropriate, with the representatives of the aircraft industry and related financing services, including with the Aviation Working Group. Out of the issues to be discussed, the Participants will address issues relating to,  inter alia, minimum risk-premium rates, minimum interest rates, maximum repayment terms and to any other issues necessary to maintain a robust and workable level playing field.
