The Group on the Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Civil Aircraft (Aircraft Group) met in Paris at the OECD on 26-28 April 2007 to progress the review of the Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Civil Aircraft. This Understanding sets out financial terms and conditions for officially supported export credits for civil aircraft; it is annexed to the Arrangement on Officially Supported Export Credits. The Understanding covers both large and regional aircraft.

At the 31st Meeting, the discussions were constructive and substantial progress was made on the main elements of a revised Sector Understanding. In the light of the progress made, the Chairman of the Aircraft Group, Ms. Nicole Bollen (Netherlands), urged all the Parties to the negotiations to intensify their efforts and recalled her firm intention to look to conclude these by 30 June 2007.

The Aircraft Group will meet again on 31 May and 1 June 2007 with the aim of finalising the text of a revised Aircraft Sector Understanding.
The Parties to the review include Australia, Brazil, Canada, the European Community, Japan, Korea and the United States.
