Minimising Barriers and Maximising Benefits

The Workshop and Policy Dialogue seek to enhance the dialogue between developing and developed countries on market-access issues related to technical barriers to trade (TBT) and expand the knowledge base that can feed into policy and technical discussions in the WTO and other fora in the field. It will bring together policymakers, regulators and officials from standards organizations, along with experts from other international organisations, the private sector, academia and other non-governmental groups.

Participants will share their experiences with technical regulations, standards and conformity procedures and exchange views on the nature and extent of market-access problems arising from these measures as well as possible solutions and orientations for good practice.

This event is hosted by the German Government represented by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour (BMWA). Participation is by invitation only.
