As part of its foresight mission and analysis of emerging sectors, the OECD IFP has launched a Space Forum to help space agencies and governments take stock of the opportunities and challenges of the space sector. The Forum's mission is to investigate the economic dimensions and implications of the space infrastructure for the larger economy.

Successful workshop on the possible socio-economic contributions of space applications

The Space Forum's Working Group met on Sept. 25th 2010 on the theme “Valuing the socio economic contributions of space applications: techniques and lessons learned”. This original workshop feeds into the OECD Secretariat analysis of potential socio economic contributions derived from space applications. Thirty participants coming from agencies, the private sector, academia and national delegations benefitted from presentations by invited experts (P. Cohendet, I. Leveson, M. Macauley, G. Graziola, H. Hertzfeld) and by the Secretariat.

The space sector during the economic crisis: trends to be presented at the Toulouse Space Show
