Work on trade facilitation seeks to clarify core issues involved in streamlining and simplifying international trade procedures, evaluate the costs and benefits of trade facilitation endeavours and identify promising approaches for achieving them at the national and international level. The resulting analysis aims at supporting ongoing WTO discussions in the area of trade facilitation.

OECD Regional Forum on Trade Facilitation: Challenges and Opportunities for Eastern and Southern Africa

The 2008 OECD Regional Forum on Trade Facilitation was organised by the OECD Secretariat and the South Africa Revenue Service, with the financial support of the European Union and aimed to spur constructive dialogue between key stakeholders involved in trade facilitation in Eastern and Southern Africa (e.g., trade negotiators, customs officials, private sector representatives and donors).
