The Guidelines (www.oecd.org/daf/investment/guidelines) are recommendations addressed by governments to multinational enterprises operating in or from adhering countries. They provide voluntary principles and standards for responsible business conduct in a variety of areas including employment and industrial relations, human rights, environment, information disclosure, combating bribery, consumer interests, science and technology, competition, and taxation. OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises: Specific instances considered by National Contact Points

The OECD Council Decision of June 2000 instructs the NCPs to contribute to the resolution of issues that arise relating to implementation of the Guidelines in specific instances.  With a view to improving the quality of information disclosed by NCPs, OECD publishes an archive of specific instances that have been or are being considered by NCPs.
