Population ageing is one of the greatest challenges that social policy makers are facing. Increasing life-expectancy and low fertility rates have meant that there are less active workers to support retirees than in the past.  High levels of pension spending have led OECD countries to reform their pension systems and encourage people to work longer. But private retirement plans also face enormous challenges.
