Economic Implications of Migration

The OECD studies the economic impact of migration. From 2002, reports on individual member countries' experiences and policies will be written in the context of country surveillance. The studies will examine the effects of migration on employment, wages, public finances, output and productivity.

In OECD countries, entrepreneurship is slightly higher among immigrants than natives and the total number of persons employed in migrant businesses is substantial, contributing to the economic growth of the host countries. This new publication explores migrants’ entrepreneurial activity and employment creation and the challenges they face in their host countries.
