Corporate behaviour and technological innovation are key determinants of the impact of the economy on the natural environment. A project drawing upon a large industrial survey is analysing the effects of public policy on firms' environment-related behaviour . In addition, a project on the effects of environmental policy on technological innovation is being undertaken.

The aims of this workshop include: taking stock of the impacts of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on the environment including in efficient buildings, transport and distribution and distance working; Identifing areas for further analysis of the application and use of ICTs to further environmental goals; Analysis of both positive effects and issues of ICT recycling; Considering policy implications and the development of goals and priorities.
