Quality environmental information is crucial for responsive and cost-effective policies. OECD provides leadership in the development of indicators  to measure environmental performance, provides harmonised data and helps countries improve their environmental information systems. According to OECD’s latest analysis, global greenhouse gas emissions are projected to double in the next 40 years. This would result in a 3-6 degree increase of the average global temperature by the end of the century unless governments take decisive action.
