Shipbuilding

The Council Working Party on Shipbuilding (WP6) seeks to progressively establish normal competitive conditions in the industry. It encourages transparency through data collection and analysis, and seeks to expand policy dialogue with non-OECD economies that have significant shipbuilding industries.

The Working Party is chaired by Ambassador Harald Neple, Permanent Representative of Norway to the OECD.

Revised Understanding on Export Credits for Ships (SSU)

This Sector Understanding sets common rules for government supported export credits for ships, in particular concerning interest rates and the duration of credits. The latest update of the SSU came into force on 8 October 2007.

Compensated Gross Ton (CGT) System - 2007

The OECD Council Working Party on Shipbuilding, in association with the major shipbuilding associations, has released a revised and updated system to calculate compensated gross tons (cgt). The new cgt system will come into force on 1 January 2007, and all cgt users are encouraged to use the new system from that date.
