Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes › Supplementary Peer Review Report Summary: Botswana
The supplementary report recognises the improvements made by Botswana in its legal framework to respond to the recommendations of the Phase 1 Report of 2010. Botswana has amended its laws to ensure access to banking information for the purposes of exchange of information, and to ensure the confidentiality of information received in connection with its exchange of information processes. Botswana has also amended its laws to allow the entry into a TIEA, and has signed a number of new agreements allowing for exchange of information. As a result of the progress made, Botswana will now advance to its Phase 2 review, which is scheduled for the first half of 2015.
