Furthering their efforts to fight against international tax evasion and bank secrecy, members of the Global Forum have issued 9 new peer review reports. The reports on Hungary, the Philippines, Singapore and Switzerland focus on the legal framework for transparency and exchange of tax information. >> 14 April 2011 - The Global Forum keeps up the pressure. Reports on Aruba, The Bahamas, Belgium, Estonia, and Ghana evaluate their legal and regulatory frameworks for the exchange of information. >> 13 April 2011 - The Global Forum groups more than half the world. With Ghana, Georgia and Nigeria joining in the past few weeks, the Global Forum has now 101 members and expects more countries to join soon.
>> 1 March 2011 - The Republic of Liberia has signed an agreement allowing for exchange of tax information with Ghana on 24 February 2011. Liberia’s signing with Ghana brings their total to 12 agreements that meet the internationally agreed tax standard. Read the news release.

>> 28 January 2011 - Laws in some countries do not meet global standards. The Global Forum has released ten reports which evaluate jurisdictions’ commitment to tax transparency and examine whether information is made available and accessible to foreign tax authorities. >> 27 May 2010 – The Republic of Liberia signed a tax information exchange agreement with the Netherlands. This is the first such agreement signed by Liberia, and has been concluded in the context of a multilateral negotiations with a number of OECD member countries with the assistance of the OECD Secretariat. It is expected that Liberia will sign approximately 12 more such agreements over the coming months as a result of these efforts.
