Montserrat expands its network for international exchange of tax information

02/11/2011 – Montserrat has signed a tax information exchange agreement with Germany. Montserrat has now signed 12 agreements that meet the international standard which moves it in the category of jurisdictions that have substantially implemented the standard for exchange of information.

This reflects a significant effort from a small jurisdiction which has now agreements in place with its key partners such as Australia, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Since 2009, Montserrat has actively participated as a member in the work of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information. Its Phase 1 peer review was launched on Monday 31st October and will comprehensively examine the availability of information, the access powers to this information as well as the quality of its treaty network.
