Joint OECD/Global Forum second advanced workshop on implementing the common reporting standard (CRS)
The Global Forum and OECD continue to reach out to support jurisdictions in meeting their commitments to implementing the new Standard on automatic exchange of information. Over the last 10 months, more than 400 government officials have attended training workshops on the new Standard run by the Global Forum and OECD. The sixth advanced workshop on the Standard was held in Malaysia, from 17 – 20 August, the eighth regional seminar to be held this year.
53 officials attended the seminar, representing Brunei Darussalam, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore and South Africa. Expert trainers from the Global Forum and OECD secretariats delivered the course, which was interactive and driven by the questions from participants, whom are all well underway in their domestic implementation of the Standard. A special panel presentation was made by global representatives from the OECD Business Advisory Group, as well as a presentation from India on its work to implement the Standard.
The event was generously hosted by Malaysia, with a special welcome from the Chief Executive Officer of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia.
Global Forum members that are interested in hosting a regional or national training event should contact the secretariat at email@example.com.
