On 20 April 2005 in Paris, OECD countries and Brazil met again to discuss the review of the terms and conditions for officially supported export credits for civil aircraft, currently set out in the Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Civil Aircraft – which is Annexed to the Arrangement on Officially Supported export Credits.
There was a first round of technical discussion on the preceding two days, mainly focused on risk-rating systems, on aircraft categorisation and on relations between potential disciplines and market practices. In this process, the Parties to the review benefited from technical input from the Aviation Working Group (AWG). The AWG is a key stakeholder composed of the major airframe and engine manufacturers from Brazil, Canada, Europe and the United States, as well as the world’s major aircraft leasing companies and financiers.
The Parties to the review will meet again in the week of 20 June 2005 to progress the review.
The Parties to the review are Australia, Brazil, Canada, the European Community, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the United States.
